Finally the truth comes out.Governments blame corporate greed for recession!

Well, I can hardly believe it! Governments and the media are finally saying what we at AlterQuest wrote six years ago. The problem with the economy is due to corporate greed and a vast inequality in wages!!!

Wow! They finally get it!

The problem with the economic system we’re using on this planet is that it is grossly unequal. The rich get richer and the numbers of poor are increasing.

We’re still using money as the basis for life. If you have some, you can live. If you don’t have money, you struggle, stress and eventually fail to afford the basic necessities needed for survival.

No-one in authority seems to have the answers. They’re the ones who caused this problem – by colluding with those who sought to have all the wealth. Governments and corporations were in alliance. What one wanted, the other one gave (and vice versa).  What was good for the population didn’t seem to matter.

Now the karmic law is coming into play. The corporate world with its greed and its lust for the riches of this world, is finally top heavy and is toppling.  Governments, which condoned this greedy behaviour, are now left floundering when their corporate pals, who contribute very little in taxes and take no responsibility for the welfare of the people, suddenly become unstable. The whole economy has been designed around these corporate guys and when they fail, they take everything down with them.

So, what are the population of the world supposed to do now?

We know these corporate raiders have looted our planet’s resources and polluted our atmosphere and now the planet is failing to sustain us. You can’t suck the ‘blood’ out of the planet, which is a living entity, and expect it to thrive.

We know that as these guys fail, jobs go.

We know that there is no back up plan… at least none is forthcoming from our governments or other leaders.

So, what can we do?

It’s time to think and act locally.

For too many decades now our countries have outsourced jobs and sought cheaper products from other countries – predominantly China.

This is a crazy thing to do. It’s like putting all your eggs in one basket!

What’s the backup plan if the Chinese economy, which often trades in US dollars, starts to falter?

Where will we get our goods from then?

How would we survive if everything ‘Made in China’  suddenly disappeared?

Take a look at almost anything in a Walmart or Kmart or any other store. Most goods, tools, clothing, utensils, crockery, car parts, plastic products and a host of other items are all Made in China. So, what will we do if something happens to China?

Surely the solution to many of our problems is to start making items locally again. Increasing local production and manufacturing creates jobs. This creates a better local economy. This gives people a better standard of living and it also helps us to know our neighbours and to get along with them.

Don’t you all wish for the time when the local storekeepers knew you and used to stop for a chat? You felt part of your community. People cared about you and you cared about them.

Did you know that there are already communities which are aiming to have this quality of life again? Their efforts to make a local economy have also made more harmonious localities.
